… at this rate I’ll be travelling close to the speed of light

Funny innit– people and things. My flat is getting a major refurb courtesy of Islington councils scheme to update all its street properties. At the end of a 5 week works schedule, I’ll have a new kitchen and bathroom along with safe electrics and new central heating. It’s all good. It does mean that I spent all of last week packing up the living and kitchen areas … I’ve been in this flat for 15 years – and I what most would describe as a hoarder & collector of lots of stuff! However, I was more than happy to fill 30 bin bags with thing out of cupboards, off shelves and out of boxes. Along with the bin bag fodder was the 3 trolley loads of charity shop stuff and the 22 boxes that have gone into storage (thank you Islington council). I was also more than happy for them to gut the bathroom and tear down the mosaic art piece that I started more than 6 years ago – in fact I was happy for pretty much everything to be cleared out… there’s been something in the air for the last year that has steered me to this point – it was inevitable.

As the old ones say: you can’t move forward without letting some things go… at this rate I’ll be travelling close to the speed of light.

However, the whole experience has left me exhausted so I might just do nothing for a week or so.
